On stage, five women transport themselves to the 19th century, where washerwomen would gather to do their laundry. Beyond the cliché of the housewife, this scene represents a place of meeting and exchange.

Their laundry symbolizes their experiences, their stories, and their lives, which they lay bare on the thread of time.

Together, they journey through the past towards the future, a symbol of diversity. Time serves them as a space to exchange ideas and knowledge, through traditional dances unique to each of their cultural origins. The music conveys the energy of these exchanges to the audience, using rhythms that range from percussion to electronic music.

This show, blending dance and house music, was born from the reflections of the members of the Compagnie Corpeaurelles and their desire to shake things up.

“Through our upbringing and environment, we are constantly immersed—often unknowingly—in a system of beliefs, clichés, and visions, without always realizing that there are other influences to explore. We are imbued with the conventions of the education that shaped us, the experiences our parents passed down to us. This comfort zone, our ego, or fear often prevents us from surpassing them.”
