Sab'r
From the Arabic etymology of the word “patience,” it means much more. “Sabr” also carries the sense of perseverance. Patience and perseverance are both necessary for the heart to reach what it desires.
In her one-woman show, Siham stretches patience in all its forms an inner process that takes her through multiple stages in her body and drives her to reconnect with her Amazigh roots, which she describes as “her anchor,” after years of questioning. She takes refuge in her ancestral lands and weaves in other influences, including Krump, a dance of expression and a return to the self.
She brings her art together in a performance that promises femininity and introspection: a solo in which she lays her heart bare through a blend of deeply moving dances.
