Be The Rhythm is an interactive family show designed for children aged 7 to 11. The show encourages connection and artistic expression through dance and music. Stepping an energetic African American form of body percussion is presented as a rich art form that fosters creativity, self-confidence, and empowerment by using hand claps, foot stomps, and the voice. By highlighting the strong influence of children’s hand games and hip-hop in the history of stepping, we will explore the instinctive rhythm that lies within each of us and celebrate the importance of connection through movement and sound.
