The world of street dances, constantly evolving, tirelessly explores new expressive avenues, pushing the boundaries of creativity. In this ever-changing landscape, Mille%, a captivating short film, offers a deep immersion into the world of krump, a form of urban dance marked by power and expression. Directed by Catherine Wielant—who has already made her mark with “Mauvaises herbes”—the documentary was entirely shot using an iPhone.

Produced by the Doc Center of Lezarts Urbains, Mille% invites us into the heart of the creative process of Blind, the 100% choreographed krump show by Hendrickx Ntela and Dexter Pierre Belleka. Hendrickx Ntela, a renowned choreographic artist, has left an indelible mark on the world of street dances through his dedication and passion. Their collaboration with Konzi company is regularly praised for its originality and significant impact on the artistic scene.

Mille% follows Hendrickx Ntela and his team through the different phases of creating Blind, from the initial stages to the final realization on stage. The documentary offers an intimate window into the sustained effort, camaraderie, and deep love for krump that drives this remarkable team. Through striking imagery and moving testimonials, viewers are transported to the heart of the fascinating world of street dances.

For those lucky enough to have attended Blind at Charleroi Dance on March 15 and 16, alongside its musicians, the experience was unforgettable. And if you haven’t yet had the chance to experience this, worry not, more dates are on the horizon!

This week, Blind will be presented at the Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles, once again enriched by the presence of its musicians. Viewers will have the unique opportunity to dive into this enchanting world on Thursday 21, Friday 22, and Saturday 23 March.

Blind will also be on stage at La Villette in Paris from April 25 to April 27. A not-to-be-missed opportunity to appreciate the art of krump in all its majesty.
