FURIOSA – Viola Chiarini: The Power of Raw Emotions on Stage
Following the success of Armonia (2022–2024), Italian choreographer Viola Chiarini returns with Furiosa, a creation where dance becomes a language of resistance and emancipation. Exploring anger, passion, and feminine strength, Furiosa transforms raw emotions into a creative force .

A Creation Inspired by the Figure of Medea
Accompanied by performers Valerio Cassa and Elisa Morandi, Viola Chiarini draws inspiration from the mythical figure of Medea, a symbol of feminine rage and transformation.
With Furiosa, she explores how anger can be channelled into a creative energy, driving both personal and collective transformation .Waacking, a dance style that originated in LGBTQ+ clubs in Los Angeles in the 1970s, becomes here a tool of radical expression.Every gesture, every movement, carries emotion: a cry, a challenge, and a release.
This feverish physicality gives rise to a unique body language, blending power, vulnerability, and grace.

A Sensory and Visceral Experience
The set design, lighting, and music amplify the dramatic tension and the performers’ virtuosity.
The audience does not merely watch: they feel and are immersed. Each sequence triggers a physical and emotional response, creating a fully immersive experience.
Furiosa is more than a performance; it is a sensory journey that moves and liberates.
Viola Chiarini: A Radical Choreographic Voice
With Furiosa, Viola Chiarini confirms her position among the most daring choreographers of her generation. Her dance is simultaneously political, sensitive, and visceral — an art of the body and truth.
This creation celebrates freedom, resistance, and feminine strength, while questioning how raw emotions can be sublimated through art.
