Get Down launches Get down #backstage : monthly support sessions
Starting in March, Get Down is launching Get Down #Backstage: free monthly drop-in sessions dedicated to supporting (semi-)professional dancers in developing their careers and projects, with a specific focus on choreographic creation.
These sessions are led by Camille Philippot, producer and touring/booking professional in street and clubbing dance, and founder of Get Down. Depending on the needs identified, the sessions may occasionally be strengthened by the presence of additional guest contributors.
Practical support, tailored to each project’s stage
Get Down #Backstage aims to provide an accessible framework where artists can benefit from an external professional perspective, along with practical tools and clear reference points. The goal is not to offer a “magic formula,” but to share realistic working directions adapted to each project’s constraints and ambitions.
Whether your project is still at idea stage or already underway, artists are welcome to join these free sessions, tailored to individual needs, lasting from a few minutes up to a maximum of one hour per person.

Topics covered
Depending on needs, the sessions may include:
- Artistic development
- Project structuring
- Budgets and feasibility
- Reviewing, clarifying and refining applications / decks / presentations
- Touring and distribution advice
- Insights into the choreographic sector
- When relevant: introductions within the Get Down network
Format and location
Initially, the sessions will take place at the Get Down office (or via video call depending on requests and availability). Starting in May and June, sessions will alternate between the Get Down office and Dakh, offering a setting even closer to dancers’ practices and community dynamics.
Sessions are accessible with or without an appointment (except for video calls). You can drop in without booking to ask a question or get feedback, the goal is to keep access simple, whatever the stage of your project. To secure a time slot, however, booking is recommended via email or Instagram DM.
